greisen Min.|ˈgraɪz(ə)n| [Ger.; a dial. var. of greisz, f. greiszen to split.] A granitic rock with crystalline-granular texture, consisting chiefly of quartz and mica. Hence ˈgreisening vbl. n., greiseniˈzation, the pneumatolytic conversion of granite of similar rocks into greisen.
