† ˈgrinter Sc. Obs. Also 5–6 gryntar, 6 ? grainter. [ad. F. grenetier, f. grenette dim. of grain or graine: see grain n.1 and cf. granator.] One who has charge of a granary or grange. Also grinter-man.
