[Of uncertain origin, perh. Tibetan. Gurung is not a self-designation (the people refer to themselves as Tamu or Tamu-mai), and seems to be used only in Nepali.]

b. The language of the Gurung people, sometimes classified as Tibeto-Kanauri or as Bodish (Sino-Tibetan).
