▪ I. ‖ hakim Oriental.|ˈhɑːkɪm| Also 7 haccam, hackame, hackum, 8 hackham. [Arabic ḥākim governor, f. ḥakama to exercise authority.] A judge, ruler, or governor, in Muslim countries and in India; the administrative authority in a district.
