heterolysin|ˌhɛtərəʊˈlaɪsɪn| [a. G. heterolysin (Ehrlich & Morgenroth 1900, in Berl. klin. Wochenschr. XXXVII. 455/1), f. hetero- + lysin.] A hæmolysin formed in the bloodstream of an animal when blood cells from one of a different species are introduced.
