† hidous, v. Obs. rare. Also 4 hydowse. [f. hidous hideous. OF. had hisder, hider to feel terror; also hidusable frightful, terrible, as if from a vb. hiduser.] a. intr. To feel terror. b. trans. To feel terror at, dread, abhor.
