1933Ritter & Kurth in Industr. & Engin. Chem. XXV. 1250 The authors propose the word ‘holocellulose’ as preferable to Skelettsubstanzen, maintaining that the latter term does not describe the material correctly either from the physical or chemical point of view. 1946Nature 14 Dec. 855/1 Holocellulose, now known to be a very important constituent of chemical pulps so far as their behaviour on beating is concerned. 1969R.
