homuncule, -uncle|həʊˈmʌŋkjuːl, -ˈʌŋk(ə)l| [ad. L. homunculus, (also in Eng. use) dim. of homo man. Cf. F. homuncule (18th c. in Littré).] A little or diminutive man; a mannikin.
