hydromancy|ˈhaɪdrəʊmænsɪ| Also 5 ydro-, 6 hidromancy, 6–7 hydromantie, 7 -ty. [a. F. hydromancie, or ad. late L. hydromantīa, a. Gr. *ὑδροµαντεία, f. ὑδρο- water + µαντεία divination: see -mancy.] Divination by means of signs derived from water, its tides and ebbs, etc., or the pretended appearance of spirits therein.
