[mod.L., ad. Gr. ὑποχόνδριον (neut. sing.), as τὸ δεξιὸν ὑποχόνδριον the right hypochondrium (Hippocrates); see hypochondria.]
Each of the two hypochondriac regions which are distinguished as ‘right’ and ‘left’.
