Something ‘thrown in’; a quantity of some commodity given in addition to the exact measure.
1798R. Douglas Agric. Surv. Roxb. & Selkirk 357 It is still usual in several places to give a pound of incast, as it is here called, to every stone of wool, and a fleece to every pack sold.1863Morton Cycl. Agric. (E.D.S.), Incast (Roxb. & Selkirksh.), a pound in a stone of wool, and a fleece in a pack, usually given above measure.

trans. To cast or throw in; fig. to suggest. Hence ˈincasting vbl. n., throwing in; suggestion.
