combining form, on Greek models, of vesica, occurring in various terms referring to the bladder in connexion with some other part of the body denoted by the second element (so F. vésico-); also occas. used for vesiculo-; so vesico-cervical, vesico-intestinal, vesico-prostatic, vesico-rectal, etc.; ˌvesicoˈpustular a. = vesiculo-pustular adj. s.v. vesiculo-; ˌvesico-uˈreteral, -ureˈteric adjs., of or pertaining to the bladder and the ureters; spec. applied to a flow of urine from the former back into the latter.
Various other terms, as vesicocele, vesicoclysis; vesico-abdominal, vesico-pubic, vesico-spinal, etc., appear in Dicts.
