† inˈdiligence Obs. [ad. L. indīligentia, f. in- (in-3) + dīligentia diligence.] 1. Want of diligence or application; inconstancy or negligence in effort; indolence, sloth.
1496Sc. Acts Jas. IV (1814) II. 238/2 Gif thai be notit of Indeligence of sleuth þarin, þat þai be punyst be þe kingis gude grace. 1604Edmonds Observ.
