Vitallium|vaɪˈtælɪəm| Also -alium and with lower-case initial. [f. vitall-, of unkn. origin + -ium.] A proprietary term for an alloy of cobalt, chromium, and molybdenum that has a high resistance to abrasion, corrosion, and heat and is used in surgery, dentistry, and engineering.
