interglacial, a. Geol.|-ˈgleɪʃ(ɪ)əl| [inter- 4 b; introduced in German in 1865 by Heer (Urwelt des Schweiz, p. 532).] Lying between glacial periods; formed or occurring between two such periods. Also absol., an interglacial period.
