‖ interscapilium Zool.|ˌɪntəskəˈpɪlɪəm| [late Lat., f. inter between + scapula shoulder-blade.] The space between the shoulder-blades; the upper region of the back (esp. in birds). Also in mod. forms interscapulium, interscapulum.
