reˈharden, v. [re- 5 a.] 1. trans. To make hard again.
1605Sylvester Du Bartas ii. iii. iii. Lawe 473 The King's [Pharaoh's] repentance endeth with his pain. Hee is re⁓hardned. 1677Moxon Mech. Exerc. No. i. 11 You must..harden the point of it.., because the heat of the Iron will soften it fast enough,..but then you must re-harden it. 1678Hobbes Decam.
