‖ Reich|raɪç, raɪk| Pl. Reiche. [Ger., = kingdom, realm, state: see riche, rike.] Chiefly during the period 1871–1945, the German state or commonwealth; also, one of a sequence of empires or régimes in Germany, esp. the Third Reich. Apart from Third Reich, collocations with an ordinal are rare and do not constitute recognized English historical terminology.
