Kaposi Path.|kəˈpəʊsɪ| The name of M. K. Kaposi (1837–1902), Hungarian dermatologist, who described the condition in 1872 (Arch. f. Dermatol. und Syphilol. IV. 265), used (now as Kaposi's sarcoma) to designate a progressive disease characterized by multiple malignant tumours esp. of the lymph nodes, or of the skin of the extremities, and occurring esp. in cases of defective immunity.
