Bearing offspring; generative; germinative. proligerous disk or proligerous layer (Embryol.), name given by von Baer to the aggregation of cells on the outside of an ovum, formerly supposed to be germinative. proligerous pellicle, the film or membrane formed on an infusion, in which the organisms found in the infusion were supposed to originate.
