Karnata, a. and n.|kɑːˈnɑːtə| Also Carnataca, Carnati(c), Karnatak(a), Karnatakam, Karnatic, Kurnata. [f. Karnata (Karnataka), a region of south-west India; also var. of Carnatic (Karnatak), the name given, under British rule, to a region of southern India in the presidency of Madras.] A. adj.
