Knole sofa|nəʊl ˈsəʊfə| [f. the name of the prototype at Knole Park, Kent, c 1605–20.] A sofa designed in the style of an early 17th-century model, having adjustable sides that may be lowered to make it into a day-bed. So Knole couch, Knole settee.
