wind-rose|ˈwɪndrəʊz| [f. wind n.1 + rose n.; in sense 2 after G. windrose (cf. rose n. 14 c).] 1. Name for several papaveraceous plants, or their flowers: a. the ‘bastard wild poppy’, Argemone mexicana, or the common wild poppy, Papaver Rhœas; b. the violet horned poppy, Rœmeria hybrida.
