witgat S. Afr.|ˈvɪtxat| [Afrikaans, f. wit white + gat hole.] Any of several trees of the genus Boscia, which have pale bark and are found in dry areas of southern Africa, esp. the evergreen B. albitrunca. Also witgatboom [Afrikaans boom tree].
