lathyrism Path.|ˈlæθɪrɪz(ə)m| [f. lathyr-us, + -ism.] A condition produced by the use as food of the seeds of some species of the genus Lathyrus. It is characterized by formication, tremors, convulsive movements, and paraplegia.
