libido Psychoanalysis.|lɪˈbiːdəʊ, -ˈaɪdəʊ| [f. L. libīdo desire, lust.] Psychic drive or energy, particularly that associated with the sexual instinct, but also that inherent in other instinctive mental desires and drives. Also transf. and attrib., as libido theory.
