‖ yoko-shiho-gatame, n. Judo.|ˈjokoˌʃihogaˌtame| [Jap., lit. ‘lateral four-quarters hold’, f. yoko side, flank, transverse direction + shihō (f. shi four + hō direction, quarter) + katame hold.] A hold in which the opponent's shoulders and hips are pinned to the mat.
