Lochaber|lɒxˈæbə(r)| Also 7 Loquhabor, Lochwaber. [The name of a district of Inverness-shire.] attrib. in Lochaber-axe (Antiq.): ‘a sort of halbert of a large size, having a strong hook behind for laying hold of the object assaulted’ (Jam.). Also in Lochaber-trump Sc., a Jew's-harp (E.D.D.).
