zoogyroscope|zəʊəʊˈdʒaɪərəskəʊp| [f. zoo- + gyroscope.] An apparatus in which a series of instantaneous photographs of a moving animal are placed upon a rotating glass cylinder and illuminated so as to throw the images in rapid succession upon a screen, producing the appearance of the actual movement.
