1867J. D. Dana in Amer. Jrnl. Sci. XCIV. 256 (table) Œllacherite. [Note] Œllacher's margarite from Pfitschthal [Tyrol]. 1933Amer. Mineralogist XVIII. 30 A massive pink mineral with obscure cleavage..appeared under the microscope to have a micaceous texture and had about the optical characters of muscovite... The varietal name oellacherite is given by Dana to this barium-muscovite. 1949Chem. Abstr. XLIII. 6120 The discovery of a previously unknown mineral in the mountains of Kara-Tau in Kazakhstan is reported... The chem. compn. corresponds to œllacherite in which a part of the AL2O3 is isomorphically displaced by V2O3. 1962W. A. Deer et al. Rock-Forming Min. III. 14 It is probable that roscoelite and oellacherite are distinct chemical and structural species and that there is not a complete series between each of them and muscovite. |
