mandelonitrile, n. Chem.|mænˌdɛləʊˈnaɪtraɪl| [f. mandelic a. + -o + nitrile, after G. Mandelnitril.] Benzaldehyde cyanohydrin, C6H5CH(OH)CN , a yellow oily liquid which is the nitrile of mandelic acid and of which amygdalin is a glucoside.
