Manu, n. Hindu Mythol.|ˈmɑːnuː| Also 8 Mănŏŏ. [a. Skr. Manu, archetypal use of manu man.] The father of the human race, and the legendary author of the Laws of Manu (Manu-smṛti), an important Sanskrit legal code. Also, one of a series of fourteen cosmic deities, each of which presides over one of the manvantaras.
