matildite Min.|məˈtɪldaɪt| [a. It. matildite (A. D'Achiardi I Metalli (1883) I. 136), f. the name of the Matilda mine (near Morococha in the department of Junín) in central Peru: see -ite1.] A sulphide of silver and bismuth, AgBiS2, occurring as brittle, grey to black, orthorhombic crystals that are opaque with a metallic lustre.
