meliphagine, a. and n. Ornith.|mɛˈlɪfədʒɪn| [ad. mod.L. Meliphagīn-us, f. Meliphaga: see meliphagan and -ine.] a. adj. Of or pertaining to the Meliphaginæ, a sub-family of the Meliphagidæ (see prec.). Also used for meliphagidan. b. n. A bird of this sub-family.
