propantheline Pharm.|prəʊˈpænθəliːn| [f. propyl + xanthene + -el (f. ethyl) + -ine5.] A white, bitter-tasting powder, C23H30NO3Br, which is a quaternary ammonium bromide derived from xanthene, and is a parasympatholytic agent used esp. for treating the symptoms of peptic ulceration. Also propantheline bromide. Cf. Pro-Banthine.
