A short-sighted person.
1728Chambers Cycl. (ed. 2) s.v. Eye, It is not, however, myopes and old men alone that would..have their vision..very near or very remote. 1849–52Todd's Cycl. Anat. IV. ii. 1463/2 Myopes..read with more ease in partial darkness than those whose sight is perfect. 1887[see myopic].
