‖ Nemophila Bot.|nɪˈmɒfɪlə| Also erron. -phyla, -phylla. [mod.L., f. Gr. νέµος wooded pasture, glade + ϕίλος loving.] A genus of ornamental herbaceous annuals (family Hydrophyllaceæ), of N. American origin, of which the chief variety, N. insignis, has showy blue flowers with a white centre; a plant of this genus.
