Neocomian, a. and n. Geol.|niːəʊˈkəʊmɪən| [ad. F. Néocomien (Thurmann, 1832), f. Neocomi-um (f. Gr. νέος new + κώµη village), latinized form of Neuchâtel.] 1. Of or belonging to the series of lower cretaceous rocks found at Neuchâtel in Switzerland.
