A tumour formed by proliferation of the neurilemma.
1935A. P. Stout in Amer. Jrnl. Cancer XXIV. 752 Therefore it seemed advisable to take this phrase ‘nerve sheath tumor’..and to construct from it a new name for the neoplasm. After consultation with Dr. G. F. Laidlaw and Dr. F. H. Vizetelly, editor of the New Standard Dictionary, the word ‘neurilemoma’ has been constructed and it is proposed to use this term for the tumor under discussion.
