aphrodite, n.2 Min.|ˈæfrəʊdaɪt| [f. Gr. ἀϕροδίτη (see prec.), taken as a mineral name from its ending -ite, in sense of foam-stone, aphrite being already occupied.] A soft opaque milk-white mineral, consisting mostly of bisilicate of magnesium, allied to Sepiolite or meerschaum.
