nitrosamine|naɪˈtrəʊsəmiːn| [ad. G. nitrosamin (O. N. Witt 1875, in Ber. d. deut. Chem. Ges. VIII. 857): see nitroso- and amine.] Any of the class of compounds containing the group 〉N{b1}NO, which can be prepared by the action of sodium nitrite and a strong acid on secondary amines.
