aplanatic, a.|æpləˈnætɪk| [f. Gr. ἀπλάνητ-ος free from error (f. ἀ priv. + πλανά-ειν to wander) + -ic.] Free from aberration; spec. applied to a compound lens which is free from spherical aberration or divergence of rays of light from the focus.
