ophicalcite Min.|ɒfɪˈkælsaɪt| [f. Gr. ὄϕι-ς serpent + calcite. In Fr. ophicalce (Brongniart 1813), Ger. Ophicalcit.] A species of rock composed of a mixture of serpentine and crystalline limestone (calcite); calcitic ophiolite.
