ˈoverˌdraught, -ˌdraft|-drɑːft, -æ-| [over- 1.] A draught passing over or admitted from above a fire, furnace, kiln, etc. attrib. in overdraft kiln, a form of brick- or tile-kiln in which the heated products of combustion are made to pass down through the contents of the kiln before escaping by the chimney flue or flues.
