pantaleon|pænˈtæliːən| Also -lon, -lone, -loon. [Named after Pantaleon Hebenstreit, a German, who invented the instrument in 1705.] A musical instrument: a large dulcimer having one or two hundred strings, sounded by hammers or sticks held in the player's hands.
