1947McFadzean & Davis in Glasgow Med. Jrnl. XXVIII. 238 Preparations of the peripheral blood of this case were sent to Dr. Pappenheimer, who..confirmed their apparent identity with those studied by him... We shall in this paper refer to these inclusion bodies as Pappenheimer's bodies. Ibid. 255 It would appear that the siderotic granules described by Grüneberg..and by Doniach et al...are probably similar to the Pappenheimer bodies. 1966J. W. Linman Princ. Hematol. iii. 63 Siderocytes are red cells that contain one or more hemosiderin granules; these inclusion bodies..are usually demonstrable only with special stains, such as Prussian blue. Occasionally they are associated with sufficient basophilic material to be evident with Romanowsky stains and are then referred to as Pappenheimer bodies. 1972W. J. Williams et al. Hematol. viii. 80/2 Siderosomes staining with Wright's stain have been called Pappenheimer bodies. |
