paragaster Zool.|pærəˈgæstə(r)| [f. Gr. παρα- para-1 ‘false’ + γαστήρ belly, stomach.] The central or gastric cavity of a simple sponge. Hence paraˈgastral a., of or belonging to the paragaster.
