IX. 560/2 They [sc. the troubadours] even descended to depict the life of the peasantry, and sang their adventures with shepherdesses, &c. in pastoretas and vaqueyras. 1878[see prec.]. 1931W. P. Jones Pastourelle i. 6 The pastourelle takes its name..from its principal actor, the shepherdess herself... The name was perhaps applied first to the Provençal specimens, the pastorela or pas[t]oreta. |
