Penobscot, n. and a.|pɛˈnɒbskɒt| Also Penobscote. [Native name: see F. W. Hodge Handbk. Amer. Indians North of Mexico II. 226.] A. n. An Algonquian Indian people of the valley of the Penobscot River in Maine, U.S.A.; also, a member of this people.
