periblem Bot.|ˈpɛrɪblɛm| [mod. (Ger., Hanstein 1868) ad. Gr. περίβληµα anything thrown or put round, f. περιβάλλειν to throw round, put on (as a covering).] Term applied to the embryonic cells of the growing-point of Phanerogams from which the primary cortex is developed.
